Day 1 Ellie led off the meet with a solid effort in the 1500m. 5 seconds off her PB and her second fastest time in the event. She finished 14th in her age group in 19:08.40. After a week of blue skies and sunshine, the Open Water Regional Championships on Sunday 30th June was declared a non-wetsuit event, despite the morning being cloudy and a little chilly for the four Woking Swimmers taking on the 2K race. The Bank Holiday weekend saw the final stint of the Swim England South East Regional competitions with the turn of the 15&overs taking part at the Wycombe Leisure centre. 14 swimmers competed over the weekend with an outstanding 16 Finals. SATURDAY Galahad Reeve (15) kicked off the weekend with the Mens 50 breaststroke achieving a PB in his sole race of the weekend with a 35.77. Our Senior Coach Alex is bidding WSC farewell at the end of the summer season for some well earned rest and relaxation, to embark on his travels. South East Swim England Regionals Summer (Long Course) Championship which started on the Saturday 20th of April and goes through to the 6th of May. South East regionals is the main summer competition inside the National Qualifying Window which swimmers use to gain National times and rankings.
