Sophie King, as only the second Woking Swimmer in History, has been selected to represent GB at the European Junior Championships taking place this week. The event, being held at the Otopeni Olympic Swimming Complex in Bucharest, Romania, between 5-10 July, will be a ‘hugely valuable learning experience’ for one of the largest British junior squads to participate in Europe’s premier age-group competition. The Woking Surrey Masters Squad were out in full force for the Surrey Masters County Championships, held at SSP over the weekend of 25th/26th June. Following the spectacular results at Nationals in Mid-June, the squad were determined to make their mark at County level and did not disappoint. The Masters event are a fabulous opportunity for swimmers of all ages to compete. What an incredible three-day Masters National Championships for our WSC Masters squad! The Masters Nationals is the main event in the domestic Masters swimming calendar and was held from 17-19 June 2022 in Aberdeen. Arena Junior League 2021, provided our junior swimmers with an opportunity to race during lockdown, however, due to the pandemic we could only race 'in-house'. This year we have been able to compete in the Junior League again, but had some great competition which created an amazing atmosphere for fast swimming. Lead Coach Seb Leather thought it was a great night of racing with a positive and buzzing atmosphere from all the swimmers, regardless of the experience level. It was the first team gala for many of the junior swimmers involved therefore helping them understand more about swimming galas and Woking Swimming Club. Regionals entered its final stage this weekend with the 2nd weekend of the South East Age Group Championships 2022 for the 14 and under age group.
