Masters swimmers continue record breaking time in Aberdeen | Scottish Swimming

Mike, interviewed by Scottish Swimming,  said of his performances so far:

“It’s good to be swimming fast again, it’s been a bit of a long haul back after the pandemic took effect. I’m swimming well this week, there are great facilities here and I’m loving it.”

Speaking about the enforced time out over the past couple of years, he continued,

“I took a bit of a break during the pandemic, did some tick-over type stuff in the gym, things like that, and then decided to hit it hard when the pools reopened again. We moved Club in Woking, set up a new club there for Masters and that’s working well. There are a great group of individuals, and more people are wanting to join which is fantastic.”

Another British Record fell to Woking, this time in the 200IM (60-64 age group) with David Bryant setting a new 200IM GB record, in a time of 2:37.03.

The medals kept coming for Woking, with further Gold medals  from Michelle in 50m fly, 50m back  and 100m fly, Jennie in 100m Breast and yet another relay Gold  medal in the 4 x 50m mixed free relay.

Silver medals for David in 100m, 50m Breast and  100m fly with Michelle adding a silver in 100m free and  Bronze for Jennie in the 200m Back and a Bronze medal for Jerry O'Riodan in 50m free.

Congratulations to the squad, Seb and the supporting coaches for a fabulous set of results. An incredible Masters event from all of the squad and Woking are incredibly proud of our growing Masters Community.

The Masters motto is ‘fun, fitness and friendship' and delighted not only with the growing sucess of the WSC Masters,  but also with their overall encouragement of new members, who have even encouraged a group of ex-senior WSC swimmers to return and compete in the Surrey Championships next weekend at SSP!

Well done and best of luck to everyone next weekend at Surreys!
