A warm Woking welcome to Lana Holmqvist, Adam Comfort and Barry Tonks who have joined our fabulous Woking coaching team.
Adam, an avid Ironman Competitor, has 20 years experience in the leisure industry and brings to Woking his recent experience from his role as Virgin Active National Swim Project Manager; he has also recently taken up the post of Open Water Head Coach for NOWCA UK.
Adam has previous experience in school swim coaching and has successfully coached teams to both Surrey and National Champions. He holds both level 2 Aquatics Coaching and level 2 Open Water Coaching qualifications and brings with him a wealth of experience in his personal competitions.
Lana, a Swedish native, began working in the world of swimming back in 1995.
Lana, a level 3 swim coach/teacher, has taught/coached swimming in Sweden, and more recently in Ireland where she coached at two clubs as well as latterly holding the role of Head Coach at Courtown Swimming Club.
A move to the UK in 2016 has now brought Lana to Woking and we are thrilled she will be joining our coaching team. Lana will be coaching our Senior Associate squad and Cadets.
Barry, a level 2 swimming coach, has +5 years coaching and teaching experience at Croydon Amphibians, where he was responsible for all levels of swimmers from beginners to national standard.
As a former County swimmer and past club captain of Croydon, he comes to Woking with a great background in Surrey swimming and what it takes to teach and coach at all levels!
