An excited team of young swimmers boarded the coach on 30th September to Waterlooville, near Portsmouth, for what was set to be an exciting night of swimming at the annual Hants and South Coast Junior Cup. For some, it was set to be their first experience of a team gala.
Other teams competing included Havant & Waterlooville (hosts), Winchester, Staines, Sutton & Cheam and Fareham.
Throughout the night all the teams remained in high (and loud!) spirits, helped along by the support of a packed gallery of enthusiastic supporters.
Our swimmers all performed incredibly well, with a lot of PBs, which was a great achievement especially considering that there was a very quick turnaround between a lot of swims.
It was a great night of swimming and well done to Winchester for a well fought out win!
A massive thank you goes to David and Olive, our brilliant whips Noah Trundle (WSC boys captain) and Thomas Webb (WSC boys vice-captain), officials and supporters that gave up their time for this away gala, as well as to our swimmers who continue to give it their all and make all the events so exciting.
After our swimmers get home, and once their excitement dies down, we hope they’ll be able to get a good (albeit late) night’s sleep in preparation for the first day of our Club Champs on Sunday.Share this page:
