Aims of the ClubOur aim is to develop sportsmanship, comradeship and to promote enjoyment of swimming as a healthy sport and as complementary activity to other sports activities. We try to cater for all types of competitive swimmer from novices through to development of accomplished athletes. A further objective is to help individuals reach their own potential and goals. C-CLUBIn the year 2000 Woking Swimming Club became a founder member of Three Counties Aldershot Swimming Club (TCASC). Other current co-founding clubs are: Alton and District SC; Bracknell SC; Farnham SC; Guildford City SC; Hart SC; Rushmoor Royals SC. Together we are now Associate Clubs of the C-Club TCASC. All members of Woking SC are members of TCASC. Furthermore, all Full Members aged 16 years and over and a parent or guardian of the swimmers under 16, have the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting or Extraordinary Meeting of TCASC. The governance of TCASC is vested in an Executive Committee and Coaches Committee, both with equal representation from all clubs. TCASC was formed to take advantage of the 8 lane 50m pool built by the Army at Aldershot, which is a wonderful training facility. A contract has been secured with Sodexho (which manages the facility on behalf of the Army) that gives TCASC exclusive use of the pool for 2 hours a night, 4 nights a week. This time is shared out between the Associate Clubs, each one having 2 lanes, 2 nights a week. TCASC reserves the right to choose to compete as a Club in selected events, though each Associate Club has the right to agree to participate or not. This formation of a single team made up of swimmers from the various Associate Clubs may enable the better swimmers to compete in team events at District and National levels where they may not have otherwise done so. |
