Day 2 Heats
A fantastic first swim from Brin Dorell in the 14yr 50m Freestyle heats. A great PB of over half a second , in a time of 25.94s, secures Brin a place in tonight’s final in 4th seed. Well done to Brin in his first National final!
Abi Stemp was next up in the 14yr age 100m fly heats. A fantastic heat swim from Abi, and another PB of nearly 0.5s in a time of 1:07.13 means a final place for Abi in the final, seeded 5th but all very tightly bunched for an exciting final tonight.
Good luck to both Abi and Brin tonight!
Day 2 Finals
Brin, in his first Nationals and first nationals final, swam an amazing 50m Free and stormed to a
Gold medal in a spectacular new PB time of 25.68s! Well done Brin, a great achievement!
Abi, also in her first National final swam a fantastic PB of 1:06.40s and in a very close race, touched in 5th position.
Day 4 Heats and Finals
Day 4 and time for the 50m Breaststroke sprints: Richard Sugden swam a superb PB in his heat, in a time of 30.92, breaking 31sec LC for the first time and for the second year in a row a Woking swimmers was placed joint 10th after all the heat swims. A long wait for the very exciting swim off, where the two 10th place swimmers swim the race again to fight for a place in the evening’s finals, saw a very exciting 50m and Richard only just loose out on the touch.
Connor Lockwood was next in action and after two very closely spaced swims, was delighted to PB in both his 200m Freestyle (2:28.66) and 100m Fly (1:16.28).
Matthew Ferguson was last up in the 100m backstroke and a PB from of 1:02.80 securing him his place as 10th seed in the finals and delighted to follow with a finals swim, in a further PB of 1:02.53, and move up to 9th place.
Day 5 Heats and Finals
Connor Lockwood continued his run of PBs, this time in the 100m backstroke with a 2 sec PB, in a time of 1:15.42 and securing him aplace in the finals this evening, seeded 6th. Congratulations to Connor on his first Nationals final!
Abi Stemp was back in the water, this time of the 50m Fly and a great time of 30.11sec sees Abi into her second national final tonight. Commiserations to Lucy Drinkall who was unable to compete on the day due to an injury.
The final session of the English Summer Meet and Connor, after a gutsy swim, almost equaled his morning PB in a time of 1:15.60, earning him 7th place, and Abi managing to increase her placing to 8th place in a finals swim time of 30.15sec.

What is the English Summer Meet ?
The National Summer Meet is Swim England’s biggest domestic swimming event of the year.
The Summer Meet forms part of a swimming competition structure in Great Britain whereby the top ranked swimmers in each event are invited to compete at the British Swimming Summer Championships.
The next ranked swimmers at English affiliated clubs – or those who have chosen to be ranked as an English swimmer – are invited to compete at the English Nationals.
The rankings are on swimmers’ performances at level 1 meets between a qualification window, typically between March and May of the same calendar year.
