King of the Pool

We have introduced a number of RACE SESSIONS for the ASSOCIATE 5 & 6 SWIMMERS to give them more practice before they move up to Cadets. The first of these was held Sunday 9th November.

Woking’s sprint specialists Ben Smith, Alex Smith, Ross Arnfield and Sam Holloway were in action at the short course National Senior Age Group and Masters Championships 2014 last weekend….


Ray Hedger elected ASA President for 2014-2015

Congratulations to Ray Hedger who was elected as the ASA President for 2014-15. Ray has been associated with Woking Swimming Club for many years and Brian Robbings (Woking Chairman) attended the ACM dinner in Birmingham over the weekend with Liz (wife and Woking Coach) for the announcement.

Brian commented:
“Many congratulations, on behalf of Woking SC, to Ray Hedger on his appointment as ASA President 2014/15. Ray, as a former WSC coach, Janet, his wife and their two sons have long standing connections to our club and we are very proud and delighted that Ray has been appointed in this role. It was an honour to celebrate this achievement with Ray and his family.”


World Class Podium Potential Selections

Congratulations to Zara Mullooly who has been offered a place on the World Class Podium Potential Programme by British Para Swimming.

Hannah Russell continues her successful career and appears on the 2014-15 Podium Athletes squad.

Special mention to Connor Lockwood who has achieved times within the consideration standards but has not yet reached the minimum age of 12 to be included in the programme.

Anna Maine & Ewan Smith selected for England Talent Programmes

Congratulations to Anna Maine and Ewan Smith on their selections for the England Talent Programme. The programme of activities for the 2014-15 season will involve three principal phases of activity, each targeting a key stage of the athlete pathway. The first phase is an Education & Development day taking place in October/November.
